Hello Society, I'd like to rejoin you now...

I'm getting back in the groove of life. I'm finally making video projects (YAY), my head is swimming with crafty ideas, my room is begging me to clean it. Aaahh, it's nice to get back to life as usual.

Oh, I'm getting the crafting fever. It's about to start storming here so I think I will settle in with my record player and start a yarn project....or better yet finish one! lol I think i'll be back at the River Market tomorrow and I'm ready it's been a looong time. I think I'm going to try to finish my afghan. I'm ready for it to be done. Maybe I'll crank out some hand warmers too. I have so many ideas running around in my head but I don't want to start everything at once.

I'm in the process of putting a Dominican Republic post together. I want to fit all my thoughts together cohesively plus I'm still gathering pictures lol. I'm thinking of doing a DR week on the blog sometime soon, so I don't have to pour my heart out into just one post lol I'll say this, I was really reminded of how much I love 2 things. Travelling, and making documentaries :-). I'll have something to show you lovelies perhaps Wednesday or Thursday.

Estados Unidos...te amo!

Oh my goodness. I am back, and I am mostly unpacked. I have been washing clothes all day long. I'll have some pictures to post tomorrow. I am just totally wiped out tonight. Can I just take a minute to say...my time in the Dominican Republic was amazing, eye opening, and life changing. I remembered that I love travelling. I officially love facebook for keeping me in touch with a lot of my new friends. And I really need to take my spanish classes because I need to be able to do more than understand it. I can't wait to dive into all the footage I have and turn out an awesome true-life representation of what we did over there. If you haven't been to the blog to read some of the stories you should. I'll post some pics and stories of my own tomorrow. For now I'm going to settle in with some tea, a book, and my DVR.

I've missed you lovelies!

Greetings from D.R.!!!

Okay...it's beautiful here and we had the smoothest travel day ever considering there were 19 of us...

ANNND the church we're partnering with sent us this bus. It says "first class" on the side...and can I just say that couldn't be more accurate. I'm working out the picture situation right now so I can show you just how amazing this bus is. And on top of that it has to have the best air conditioning of any vehicle i have ever been in everrrr. It was sweltering heat outside and we were wrapped up in blankets on that bus. PRAISE THE LORD...that is pretty amazing if you asked me.

Tomorrow we get to spend the day rehearsing and AT THE BEACH. I am so so so excited. The hotel we're at is so cute and it has a fabulous swimming pool. I am in heaven. Other than having to remember not to drink the water or open my mouth in the shower and stuff of that nature. Details...minor details.

Until next time lovelies!

To all of my June pen pals

I just have to apologize. I'm sorry. I was an awful pen pal. I didn't mail any letters. I don't even want to make excuses...but can I just say I have found the letters. I have bought the stamps. I will put them in the mail tomorrow (better late than never right?). I didn't join the July pen pal list because obviously I underestimated how busy my summer would be. Once again, I'm very sorry to all my pen pals last month. I was not trying to be rude. I think you're all very lovely :-).

I love this summer

Hey everybody :-).
I've been away from blogger forever...but some crazy and exciting things have been happening. I never imagined how crazy my summer would be this year and I'm not gonna lie, I'm kind of loving it.

The latest, greatest, exciting surprise happened last week. My church is doing a crusade in the Dominican Republic July 11-18 and I really wanted to go but I have no money and the trip costs $1,800. Sad because, it's CPC's first crusade and there is definitely going to be a need for good footage and documentation. Well Sunday, my pastor comes up to me after church and sort of hints that he wants me to go and that he might make it possible for me. Then Tuesday I get a phone call from our missions coordinator and it was pretty short like "hey, i just found out you're going to the dominican. I need your passport info. to purchase your plane tickets." So as of Tuesday, the 29th I've been trying to get read to leave for the Dominican on the 11th. Luckily, I already have my passport from when I went to Japan.
A couple days later I found out Mandy is going with me!! Which is really good news because me, alone, trying to capture the essence of our first crusade, in another country, with tons of cameras and equipiment, for 7 days....was kind of a daunting task. So, I'll probably be gone from blogger for a bit longer. BUT when I finally do return I will have some amazing stories to tell you I'm sure of it.
