Wow...it's been a while! I've just finished my internship...it was a whirlwind for sure. I had a lot of fun and learned so much. Next week I'm starting a summer class...and then in the fall I start my last semester of college. WHOA! Life is coming at me so fast. I'm pretty excited about it I think...:-)

I have tried to keep my creative juices flowing even though it's been crazy busy in my life. So here's a list of a few projects I'm working on.

1. crochet flower bouquet (yes...I'm still working on that. don't judge me.)

2. baby afghan

3. laptop sweater

Tomorrow, Mandy and I are going to get together and find inspiration and do some serious crafting! I'm so excited :-)

Pictures to come I promise!

Frankenstein Hat

First of all, thanks so much to Miss Windy for giving me these amazing patterns! I found this one for a hat and I tried it out. This is my first attempt and I have to say I'm a little excited because it's my Frankenstein hat and it doesn't look that scary (I call all my first attempt at anything Frankenstein because it usually turns out scary). This only took me about 4 hours total. It needs a few adjustments and some better quality yarn and it will be perfect! Unfortunately, I left my camera at my parents house so I had to take these pictures with my phone but I think you'll still get the idea.

I can promise we'll be adding these cute hats to the booth at the Helping Hands Craft Show November 13 and 14! Thanks again Miss Windy I had so much fun with this pattern and I'm going crazy with the book you sent :-).

Be crafty!

OH What a Week!

I have four exciting things to tell you.
1. I'm going to a U2 concert on Sunday night...and I am FREAKING out!
2. I bought a coffee table today at the Habitat for Humanity Restore!
3. I bought a really cute set of retro hand decorated plates there too!
4. I'm on fall break!

Ok, so about this coffee table...I have to tell you some background information. I kind of love Elvis Presley (I know you think this has nothing to do with a coffee table, but it will I promise). When I was a kid I thought he was still alive, and then my grandma told me he was dead. I was in mourning for a week. SOO, I have all of these Elvis pictures from a calendar I used to have, and I also have a ton of 45' records. I'm going to put them all on the coffee table. This is my next project and I'm so excited.

I'll keep my progress posted on here. Right now I'm working on taking the handles off and filling the holes. Then I want to cover the top with newspaper. THEN add the pictures. Luckily, my dad has a lot of experience with furniture. He's going to help me get the legs of the table back in good shape.

This is one of my super cute retro plates. I LOVE. I also bought some little yellow tea cups and a creamer that matches the yellow in the plate. It makes me so happy to be buying things for the house! I can't wait to move in.

Have a good Thursday!

Road Trip!

My cousin is getting married this saturday. In Florida. On the beach. Yea, it's going to be beautiful. I'm leaving today with my mom, dad, brother, boyfriend, and cousin. That's 6 of us in a van. Can anyone say...MEMORIES? According to our GPS this trip will take approximately 14 hours...so I'm trying to find things to occupy my time. I'm not going to brag, but I'm kind of good at knitting. So I'm going to knit as many things as I can while I'm in that van. Knitting is great for dexterity you know. But I assure you knitting will not be enough to keep me from getting restless. So I'm also taking a coloring book. ha. Yes, I'm a sophomore in college and I love to color, it's like my favorite past time. Besides coloring and knitting, (wow, those are at opposite ends of the activity spectrum) I'll also have my video camera, and you better believe it's going to be top notch entertainment. I will prove to you that my life could actually be a television show.
