Bitter sweet end

Ok, can I tell you a secret that's not really a secret?
I am a pretty big Harry Potter fan. By pretty big I mean I've read the books and own almost all of the movies...I don't have HP pajamas and bed spread or anything like that...but I digress. My point is, these book and movies have been a big deal for over ten years! ...and last night was the epic conclusion, the end of it all. So, of course I was there at midnight last night. It was so good, and I feel like I was a part of cinema history because it had to be the biggest opening night ever.

My friend Kyla and her boyfriend and I decided that we had to dress up because it was our last chance...why not?

Kyla was tonks, her boyfriend was going to be Sirius but everyone thought he was fenrir so we just went with it lol and I went as Rita Skeeter.

For those of you unfamiliar with the characters here was my inspiration for Rita Skeeter

She is kind of a hateable character...but she's also so much fun. Everyone loved the costume and complete strangers were asking to take pictures with me...it was so fun.

Haha oh! And we found snape and harry in the hallway...so we decided to break out our wands (or in my case quill) and snap a quick photo.

And this was us eagerly waiting for the end to begin.

Seriously, it was very epic and I cried...yes, I shed real tears. If you're a fan you have to see it...of course I'm sure you're already planning to see it if you're a fan hehe


Just curious, have you ever dressed up for a movie premier before??

Friday - best day ever!

Mandy and I had a super crafty/inspirational/productive day Friday :-)! We spent the morning walking around a pretty chic cute part of Little Rock. Then we went to the sweatshop and made lots of frankensteins!

Mandy made this super cute hat complete with tiger ears!!

I successfully completed this necklace from an old tshirt and some beads. I want to do another with more strands and more beads.

I also attempted this with the other half of my old tshirt...but I don't have any pics of it. ...and it didn't turn out as well as I had hoped.

It was so much fun! I'm really glad we helped get each other back in the crafting groove.

Ok, here are some pictures of the cake I made for the Filmmaker's Ball back in April.

It was one of my favorite cakes to make because I had so much help. Josh was amazing and of course my roomie Mandy and my BFF (best filmmaker friend) Kyla were like the best help ever.

Wow...it's been a while! I've just finished my internship...it was a whirlwind for sure. I had a lot of fun and learned so much. Next week I'm starting a summer class...and then in the fall I start my last semester of college. WHOA! Life is coming at me so fast. I'm pretty excited about it I think...:-)

I have tried to keep my creative juices flowing even though it's been crazy busy in my life. So here's a list of a few projects I'm working on.

1. crochet flower bouquet (yes...I'm still working on that. don't judge me.)

2. baby afghan

3. laptop sweater

Tomorrow, Mandy and I are going to get together and find inspiration and do some serious crafting! I'm so excited :-)

Finals Week Friday - FINALLY

It is my last day of Finals Week before the summer. Let me tell you this semester has been a roller coaster. So many fun awesome things happened and so much stress haha. I am so glad to have it done. My movie premeired last week and our lead actress won "Best Actress" and yours truly won an award for "Best Producing." I also made probably the best cake (other than Char's wedding cake) of my life for the Filmmakers' Ball. I'll show you pictures soon!
My summer break only lasts a little while though because I am starting an Internship that I am super excited about on the 16th! I can't wait. All the people are really fun and laid back I think I'm going to have a good time and get some good experience out of it. I would love for them to hire me after I graduate but even if they don't just interning with them will look great on my resume. Life is so exciting right now because the future is unclear and undecided. I'm sure in 5 minutes I'll be thinking it's something less than exciting but for now it'll do.
Can't wait to get in a regular blogging routine again. The end of the semester always feels like a weight has been lifted!

Summertime is coming!!

I'm so ready for it!! I'm trying to make sure that I will still look decent in my swimsuits (mostly bc I can't afford to buy new ones this summer and partly bc I want to look nice.) I'm walking about 3 miles a day now...hopefully the weather will permit me to keep doing this at the trail near my house...because I really dislike treadmills.

Annnnd I started tanning yesterday. I don't know how you feel about tanning....most people disapprove. I, however, don't approve or disapprove. I do it right before summer for probably 2 hrs total when you add it all up and then I don't get burnt in the summertime and I don't look pasty in my sundresses! So I wouldn't consider myself to be tanorexic...

All this pre-summer activity is making me feel awesome!! I live for the summer.

P.s. I submitted Danger Jones (work in progress) to a film festival last Friday. I'm excited to hear back from them!!

Friday progress :-)

I've been slowly making flowers...I don't know why I'm making all of these for my frankenstein when I have a rubbermaid tub full of odd  mismatched flowers. I'll probably end up using some of them anyways...but I really wanted to make some super cute flowers. Here are a few of the ones I've already finished :-)

Sorry for the kinda poor quality of the photos...but I think you get the idea. I've got plans for embellishments as well. It's going to be super fun I think! :-) 

p.s. Is anyone else super relieved that it's Friday??! I would have posted the Rebecca Black - Friday song...but I love you all so I wouldn't want to subject you to that.
