Shake it like a polaroid picture...

Last weekend, on our HL outing, I thrifted a polaroid camera for just $1 at the Habitat for Humanity Restore in Hot Springs :-)...then I went to ebay to buy film...and it's basically $1 for 1 photo :-(....no bueno. So, I'm saving a little to buy a few exposures this summer.

BUT, there is a glimmer of hope!! Apparently, the polaroid instant camera might be making a comeback! I really hope this is true because I am slightly obsessed. Check out this website.

I hope you have an awesome weekend :-). Josh got an xbox...so guess what we'll be doing...hehe

Time for a little decoration inspiration

So I'm really excited about sharing this. I know that by now you all know I'm so consumed with decorating/furnishing my new house and finally getting moved in and actually settling in one place for a while. (I'm so tired of living out of my duffle bag of clothes that I carry from school to my parents and back!) But something you may NOT know, is that I am obsessed with picture frames!! I have a huge folder on my computer of pictures that I want to print and hang somewhere in my house :-) Here are some walls that really make me excited about hanging pictures

I love the different colors and sizes

And I would love to incorporate a cool vinyl wall decal too!

Mixing round/oval frames and rectangles is so neat

This fits together it almost looks like one huge frame :-)

Honestly, I'll take this entire room. I love it! And my floors look very similar.

P.S. I'm really starting to pull this film together! It's exciting. I'm really pumped. We had filmmaker Ivan Rodgers here today and he talked about his experiences it was really cool. I'm excited about my chosen profession haha!

Love yous guys

Something Blue

So, I finished the first draft of my script last night. I'm pretty pumped about it. I don't know if it will be my favorite thing I've ever made...but it's my first adventure as a director. Usually, I'm a little more behind the scenes like editor or script supervisor or camera assistant. Hopefully, I can handle the extra responsibility. Anyway I want to share a little bit about it with you :-)
It's called "Something Blue" and it's about a young woman getting married in just three days. Her grandmother writes her a letter telling her she absolutely MUST have something old, something new, something borrowed, and something blue. According to gram the marriage is doomed if she doesn't get those lucky charms. So, just two days before the wedding Mackenzie and her Maid of Honor, Cat, go on a quest to find the charms. It's going to be fun and relatively easy because I only have two actresses and three locations I think... I'll keep you posted on the progress, I'm sure I'll need to vent to someone about it at some point lol

P.S. It's friendship month and I have a few editions left. But you should check out my love for the HL gals here. I put my friend love for them on the HL blog.

Love ya!

Friendship Month: Steph

I have totally dropped the ball on my friendship month posts. I left you last with my friend Mandy M. Today I'm going to tell you about my friend Stephenie. I love her to death and our friendship really started out of necessity. (We met a few years before at my church and we even rode Mr. Freeze together at Six Flags.) Okay, fast forward to summer before our Senior year.We were both taking an ACT prep class together at another high school, so we didn't know anyone but each other. (We really didn't know each other that well.) I don't know how it happened but we were pretty much immediate friends. I mean really close and practically inseparable. We called the ACT class "Hell" and we still tell everyone that we met in Hell. It's a pretty fun story.

Since, we didn't really become friends until the summer before our Senior year it makes me sad that I went through most of my high school experience without her. However, we went through so much together that it feels like we've always been friends. We have had so many good memories together it's impossible to tell you all of them.

She came to Memphis with my family to celebrate my dad's retirement. We love Elvis so we totally rocked out at Graceland.

After graduation, Steph moved to Baton Rouge and began attending LSU. She's still there today. I've been able to visit her once, hopefully I'll have another chance soon. :-)

The bottom line is: Steph came into my life and made it so much better and more exciting and colorful. I'm so glad that even though she moved away, we're still friends and she hasn't forgotten me. I love her to pieces and I would get in a car and drive to her right this second if she needed me to. I know she would do the same for me.

Steph, I love you. Thanks for being my best friend!
Happy Friendship month!

It's been a typical tuesday.

Today, I have tried to be productive...my success was marginal. I started a really cool scarf out of this new pattern I'm teaching myself...Don't be fooled though, I did most of that last night. So it doesn't count for today's productiveness.

Then this morning, I woke up and did all my homework that I was supposed to finish last night. So that counts as productive, especially since I did it in about an hour :-).

*found via weheartit.com key word notebook*

Now, I am working on my script for a film I need to start shooting very very soon. I'm having group issues at the moment because there are just too many people trying to be involved. I want a small crew and I never thought that would be the cause of my stress...go figure. I'm getting it worked out though, hopefully, with the help of my professor.

Oh! I'm also really excited about this:

Mandy (LOVE YOU) gave me this clover pompopm maker! I am in love. It will make my hat making process so much easier/faster.

Okay, I'll be back later with some inspiration. I'm thinking of making home decor inspiration a weekly post here...mostly because I'm totally obsessed with it at this point in my life. So, I have lots of pretty pictures in my inspiration folder to share with you :-). We'll see.

Love you!

A little DIY

I haven't posted anything truly crafty in a while. So, here's a solution. I'm going to show you a super cute Frankenstein (remember I call everything I make for the first time Frankenstein) hat I made during the snow days a couple weeks ago. I found the pattern here on Elsie's blog. I modified it a teensy bit and I have some more fresh ideas for my next ones.

Here's the finished product:

Like I said, I followed Elsie's pattern only I made mine a couple inches longer and I added a black edging to my hat. It's so easy I finished this in one day.

p.s. If you like this hat...guess what. They're going to be in our mega update at the end of this month!

This week

Okay, it's taken me a while to get settled in tonight. Usually, I settle quickly when I get back to school. Tonight we watched New Moon in the Student Center Ballroom :-) It was Lauren's first time. She loved it of course. Then I had to write a paper for Cinema History II, which I'm actually enjoying a bit more than Cinema History I (Praise the Lord!) I'm excited for this week, and I'm ready for the weekend for some reason. I don't have special plans I just want the weekend :-). Here's a list of things I'm excited about this week.

This week I'm looking forward to:
1. My dad's coming to visit Wed. and he's buying us Stromboli's! yummmm
2. Watching Lord of the Rings with Mandy (We are soulmates because we share a passion for LOTR ha)
3. Doing some work on a script for a short I'm directing very soon :-) yay
4. Mailing a letter I found from 2 weeks ago that I wrote for Josh (ha, it was in my World Lit book...typical.)
5. Getting TAAAAAAAAAAAAN! :-) I am so ready to wear shorts and skirts and flip flops and tank tops and swimsuits again....summer hurry please
6. Seeing the pics from our photoshoot/fun day! I had more items than I thought I would...AND Sarah and I tried out some pretty fashionable hats

I'm so happy because I haven't been excited about a week of school in a long time...or at all. :-) I'll be back tomorrow to share some pictures from my phone. They're all very interesting!

Until tomorrow,
Krackle

Maid of Honor

Today, I'm went wedding shopping with my BFF Lauren. I'm so excited about her wedding, we've been waiting for this for a long time. We've had so much fun planning this one :-). Here are some beautiful inspiring wedding pics:

Vintage Wedding

I can't wait until May 8 for Lauren's wedding.

And speaking of weddings, I did my first practice run of painting fondant for Char's wedding cake. It went better than I expected. I'm really excited about it.

I can't wait to try it out on some ivory fondant. The wedding is barely a month away. I'm so excited. It's definitely the biggest cake I've ever dreamed of making. (20 cake mixes and 18 lbs. of fondant!!!) It's going to weigh a ton! Wow, wedding season will be very busy for me in 2010.

I'll be back soon with some pics of a hat I made over the snow days :-)

Be crafty!
